The newspaper of Dilname is a cultural independent newspaper which started to be issued thanks to individual efforts and poten-tials as a remarkable step of free media. The newspaper pub-lished articles which handled various subjects including litera-ture, history, arts, folklore, sports and other life domains except for political news and articles in accordance to the methods and the identity I have chosen for it. This, I have made very clear at the beginning of every version. The first version was distributed and published on both paper and the web in PDF format on 2010-12-01 thanks to the support of the works of Kurdish intel-lectuals and authors who participated from all over Kurdistan and Kurdish diaspora.
Two years after establishing, the second phase of Dilname newspaper began on 2012-12-01, when the daily and general versions started on www.dilname.com website using both Kurd-ish and Arabic languages. However, the literary works such as poem, prose, story, novel and other genres were only issued in Kurdish, because I believed that the identity of literature is in its language and it was considered a principle and an encourage-ment so that Kurds read and write their own literature with their native language. On the other side, Arabic was used for news, re-ports and political as well as general articles.
The archive of the electronic Dilname has been erased after its website closure. But the archive of 9 versions printed on paper was kept safe with me and so they survived. In order to keep them away from getting lost, I wanted by this work to publish them collectively in one book, so that it will remain a live model of free and independent intellectual newspaper for history and for our present generation as well as those of the future in Rojava and Syria.
