The fırst edition of this book was published five years ago. Since that time various topics of the Turkish law changed in considerable amount, especially in the field of Family law concerning "divorce by mutual agreement of the parties" was accepted. in the Law of Obligations matters on "moral damage" were also modifıed.

A great deal of new material has been added both to bring the subjects treated to including topics not handled in the first edition. For example, the division of Branches of Law into Public and Private Law, the histori–cal development of Continental Law vis a vis Anglo–American law, the classi–fıcation of Movable and Immovable property together with the Substantive and Procedural law, the problem of Culpa in Contrahendo, Absolute liability and different aspects of Proceedings, Legal profession were inserted in the re–spected areas.

Turkey is in the transitory stage for joining the European Economic Community. Therefore it would be essential to the Incoterms applied in commercial affairs as well. in the fıeld of automobile liability, the interna–tional treaty rules are also mentioned in appendix 4.

The book aims to help the studens of first grade, participants of Con–temporary Management and Comparative Law Master Candidates as well. A glossary of various legal terms has been added at the final appendix to give an idea of different application in various legal systems.

This work is öpen to criticism, I am aware of the reality of the maxim "errate humanum est" and will welcome any contribution that will provide both the development on this area and also assist in my career development.
