Imam Al-Juwayni's Luma' Al-Adillah

This book entitled ‘Imām al-Juwaynī's Lumaʾ al-Adillah fi Qawāid ʿAqāid Ahl al-Sunna wa al-Jamāʿa (The Luminous Proofs behind the Principle Creeds of the People of the Sunnah and the Majority of Scholars)', or in short, ‘Imām al-Juwaynī's Lumaʾ al-Adillah - The Luminous Proofs' is an attempt to provide the reader with an English introduction and translation of a classical Arabic work in the subject of ʿilm al-Kalām. The Lumaʾ al-Adillah was written by the Ashʿarī Imām ʿAbd al-Mālik al-Juwaynī with the aim to provide his students with a short educational manual on the demonstrable arguments and proofs behind the main creeds of Islam. This translation and annotation, therefore, provides contemporary readers with an introduction to the subject of ʿilm al-Kalām, a brief biography of Imam al-Juwaynī, a synopsis of how Imām al-Juwaynī systematically set out to demonstrate the rational arguments and proofs of the discourses related to the Muslim creed, and finally with an English translation of Lumaʾ al-Adillah side by side with the original Arabic text.
